Happy healthy newlyweds

Juliet is grateful for…

Alex and I got married on February 22, 2020, surrounded by friends and family, including our pup Dudley!
I’m so grateful for his family, who has warmly welcomed me in from the beginning of our relationship, and our friends who shared our happiness and celebrated our love.
Mostly, I am grateful I get to spend my life with Alex, a caring, patient, and faithful partner.

Loving family, near and far

Jan is grateful for…

When coronavirus began I was surprised to be considered “elderly” by the government and more in danger. My husband and I are very active and we don’t think of ourselves in that category! But we took it seriously and have been social distancing and wearing masks. We have not made any trips to visit out of state kids and grandkids since the pandemic and by the time we get to see them more than a year will have gone by. And all of our siblings and nieces and nephews are out of state so we are missing them, as well. We are fortunate to have a daughter who lives close by and to have been able to make day trips to see the grandkids play sports. We’ve had a lot of driveway time and airhugs with them and even some hold-your-breath quick hugs. Our daughter, son-in-law, and college age grandaughter did our grocery shopping for us for the first six months. Just in the last month or two have we ventured into stores and businesses and I am super vigilant and armed with hand sanitizer and wipes when we do. The other day my husband went to senior “happy hour” at Costco – the hour set aside for only seniors to shop. He returned with groceries, a coveted 4 pack of lysol spray, and these roses. In all of this weirdness 2020 has brought us, being brought roses is a beautiful thing. I’m thankful for my family and can’t wait till I can hug them all…big full on long hugs.

Marriage / Spouse / Mrs Dowling rocks!

Blake is grateful for…

My wife and I do everything together from work to play to watching back to back to back football games on Saturdays. I am so grateful to share the journey of life with someone so kind and awesome.

I am grateful to be living in Florida

Ragina is grateful for…

I moved to Florida almost ten years ago and even though I have had my challenges throughout the years, 2020 is the year I am most grateful to be in the Sunshine State. I am grateful for the beauty and the all year round warm weather we have here. During our time in quarantine, I was able to enjoy the weather more and scenery like the picture I feature here, go through some healing, and try new things such as picking peaches in a field all by myself. There is no place else I would want to be and to be able to be here, I am so grateful.

SAIL High School Administration, Teachers & Staff

SAIL is grateful for…

On behalf of the students, parents and families of SAIL High School, we are grateful to the SAIL administration, teachers and staff for giving 100% each and every day. Even with all of the challenges of the pandemic, SAIL’s remarkable teachers are creative, supportive and approachable. They have a wonderful ability to relate to and respect the students, while also challenging the students to think. It is clear that they have a very deep affection for โ€“ and truly enjoy โ€“ their students and they have created a learning environment that is personal, caring – and FUN! Like healthcare workers, first responders and all the others who have helped us manage this challenging year, SAIL administration, teachers and staff are COVID-19 heroes. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you!

This year has been very challenging for everyone, but I am grateful for my new granddaughter and for the help and support of my Rhino family and friends.

The opportunity to support and connect with others

Tara is grateful for…

I am a dance/movement therapist who serves the able and disabled, young and old. I work with people and groups of all stripes, walks and colors. I use dance and movement to bring people together, raise their confidence and energy levels and move them into brighter ways of living. Operating behind a mask, it can be hard to reach and inspire people. We’ve had to adjust. One of the greatest joys and healings of my work is the opportunity to “reach out and touch a hand; make a friend if you can.” We’ve learned to smile with our eyes and to strengthen and support one another with warm, heartfelt energy. I find strength by supporting others and helping them to soar.ย For that, I am truly grateful.

Although this year has been challenging, I am grateful for my health and the love and support I receive every day from my friends and family. Cheers to us for making it this far and I’m looking forward to what the new year will bring!

Surviving COVID with my support system

Christina is grateful for…

I got COVID in NYC in March, and am still suffering effects from it all these months later. That’s the bad news. The good news is when I got sick, my friends kicked into high gear and did what they could to help me. Because of social distancing, there wasn’t much one on one, but I was barraged with messages via social media and emails, calls, care packages through the mail, and a church brought over meals and left it outside almost every day. All the well-wishes (and some key decision-making from my husband) kept me alive, I believe. Having a support system is so important. I’ll forever be grateful for all the love, prayers, and well wishes. I’m very grateful to be alive. The picture is January, while I was in the hospital, and now. Even though the “now” isn’t so pretty, I have the hope of better health and better days to come ๐Ÿ™‚ And that “now” is better than the alternative! )
